VALENTINI LOIZOU
Valentini is a Berlin-based pianist and neoclassical composer whose work blends classical refinement with a distinctively lyrical and introspective sound. Classically trained from a young age and a graduate of Charles University in Prague, she draws on her extensive experience as a soloist and ensemble performer to craft music that is both emotionally resonant and sonically expansive.
Her compositions are known for their dreamlike atmosphere, expressive melodic lines, and a strong sense of narrative flow. Valentini’s piano writing balances clarity and depth, weaving subtle dynamic shifts with immersive textures that invite audiences into a contemplative, intimate space. In concert, she offers a deeply personal performance experience – gentle yet powerful, intimate yet expansive, her performances unfolding with evocative, storytelling depth.
Following her debut albums Reflections (2022) and Belonging (2023), her upcoming third album Metamorphosis (2025) marks an evolution in her artistic voice. The new work expands her sonic palette, and widens her expressive range while preserving the emotional transparency that defines her music.
Valentini’s artistry resonates with listeners seeking music that is heartfelt, atmospheric, and emotionally transformative – the kind of performance that lingers long after the final note.

About
Valentini is a Greek-Cypriot pianist and composer. Born in Nicosia, on the beautiful island of Cyprus, she immersed herself in the world of music and piano sound from an early age. A classically trained pianist and graduate of Charles University in Prague, Valentini has performed extensively as a soloist, with chamber groups, and with orchestras. In time, her journey led her to dedicate herself fully to composing, blending her rich musical background with her own creative vision. Now based in Berlin, Valentini aspires to bring people together through music that speaks from a soulful and heartfelt space.
Her first two albums, Reflections (2022) and Belonging (2023), are tributes to the piano — the instrument she has loved since childhood. Her third album, Metamorphosis (2025), marks a bridge into a new sonic landscape, showcasing her evolving artistic voice.
Valentini’s music is often described as dreamy, evocative, lyrical, and deeply emotional, inviting listeners to dive into their own hearts and uncover the special meanings her music reveals.
Why do you compose and what is your message as an artist?
I wasn’t always aware of my ability to compose. I began my musical journey as a classically trained pianist, believing that my path was a predetermined one — limited by who I was “meant” to be as an artist. Although I have a deep love for classical music, I never truly felt at ease within the traditional framework. It felt like a role I was expected to perform, rather than a space where I could fully belong.
Over time, and through a lot of inner exploration, I reconnected with a deeper part of my soul — a place within the world of music where I finally felt at home. This journey has become the heart of my message as an artist: to encourage others to have the courage to embark on their own path of self-discovery. To trust the quieter voice within, even when the road ahead feels unknown, uncomfortable, or not fully accepted by the world around them.
I believe the bravest thing we can do is to listen to our own heart — trust its whispers and follow it, wherever it leads.
What inspires the creation of your music?
The music I compose is a channel for all my experiences — a lens through which I reflect on life and the mystery that enfolds Creation. How can we express the inexpressible? How do we communicate what can’t be seen with ours eyes but is deeply felt through our hearts?
Life itself thus becomes an inspiration and the journey ahead a catalyst for deeper growth and reflection that is mirrored in my work. Nature’s wonders, the joy of being alive, the excitement to experience and the curiosity to explore fuel my creativity and open my spirit to infinite possibilities.
Music becomes the vehicle for the emotions, subtle energies, and impressions that cannot always be fully grasped by the spoken word — a bridge connecting my heart to the hearts of my listeners.
What does it mean to be a composer as a woman?
As a woman in the arts, I’ve always felt that female composers, particularly those creating neoclassical music, have been underrepresented in the past. Concerts featuring solo female composers are still not as common, and it can be difficult to envision what a woman composer’s life looks like — especially when so much time is dedicated to creation and performance, and society has already defined what a woman’s role should be.
I grew up on a small Greek island where traditional roles and expectations can also prove inflexible as to the possibilities and options for women artists. Choosing not to follow a predetermined path as a classically trained pianist felt almost rebellious — forging my own way against the grain of expected norms. This journey has motivated me to inspire younger artists to trust their own voice and create from an authentic, soulful place, free from societal constraints and limitations.
How would you describe your music and your performing style?
I love creating beautiful melodies that are dreamy, emotional, and often reflective. It’s like each piece tells a story, evoking images, feelings, and memories. My music remains free and open to interpretation by allowing each listener to experience it through their own unique perspective, thus re-creating a very personal interpretation.
While my classical training provides a solid foundation, my performing style has evolved into something more intuitive and personal — especially as I’ve started performing my own compositions. I love performing in one cohesive, uninterrupted flow, with my pieces interwoven so that each one leads into the next. My goal is to create a more intimate, personal experience where the audience feels part of the music, they can reflect, explore their emotional world, and gain deeper understandings of themselves and life.
What Others Say
To me, Valentini is a seasoned composer. I adore her style, which can be felt in the depths of my Soul. The flow of each piece is expressed in such a diligent and authentic way that it soothing, precious and magical. Furthermore, I am extremely honored that her first Debut Album “Reflections” was dedicated to me and my Soul – eternally grateful to you, Valentini!
